A wide range of conditions can affect the upper limb, many related to trauma.Arm Injuries commonly involve specific joints, ligaments or tendons. Although many conditions can settle with time they may require assessment by an appropriate Physiotherapistr.
The hand and wrist in particular are commonly injured during falls and it is common for Physiotherapists to see patients with ligament and muscle sprains or post fractures.
It is also common in the clinic to see patients presenting with overuse injuries including tennis or golfers elbow or patients with carpal tunnel syndrome.
When dealing with such injuries it is important to fully assess the injury and form an accurate diagnosis, whenever possible, so that clear guidance can be offered regarding the likely outcome of injury and timescales for return to activities.
